Personal Use (DIY)

Are you ready to make a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) cold plunge but still need to figure out the details?

Are you trying to figure out whether a chest freezer or a chiller-based system is better for you?

Does the information you’ve found online seem

  • confusing
  • contradictory, or
  • overwhelming?

Maybe you don’t have the time to read and sift through all of it and separate the best practices vetted over the years by thousands of people from the videos and websites put up by people who don’t know what they are doing.

If you want to save time and frustration, a consultation with John can help. John will walk you through the entire process of setting up your chest freezer or chiller-based cold plunge. During this one-hour meeting, John will work with you to:

  • create the optimal setup based on your goals and what is important to you
  • figure out the best options for tubs/tanks, liners, waterproofing etc.
  • design a plan to keep your water clean and safe
  • put together a shopping list
  • make an equipment checklist
  • feel confident that you set up your system right the first time

A few brief follow-ups or in-process calls/texts/emails will be included.

After you purchase the consultation, John will be in touch with you via email to schedule the call. If you live outside of the US, John will give you a Zoom link to use.

John lives in Texas in the US and is in the Central Time Zone (UTC -6). Calls are typically scheduled Monday through Friday between 10am and 4pm CST, but other times can be arranged if needed.

Commercial Use (DIY)

If you are thinking about building a cold plunge for your business- or already have one up and running- John can be a great resource for brainstorming all aspects of your equipment or business model.

Gym, fitness, spa, and other business owners in the wellness/bio-hacking space are excited about the benefits of offering a cold plunge to their community. However, many are frustrated when their cold plunge becomes a disappointment and a hassle. Some of the problems reported include:

  • condensation
  • maintenance
  • cleanliness
  • etiquette
  • compliance with city codes
  • and worst of all water that isn’t cold enough

One of the biggest issues I have seen in many cold plunges in commercial spaces- especially those used with contrast therapy- is that after the first few uses of the day, the cold plunge is more of a cool plunge. It might even be lukewarm unless ice is added throughout the day.

The root of the problem is that the cold plunge chiller or compressor is not powerful enough. The reason for that is that heat gain from various sources (pumps, people, saunas, etc. were not taken into consideration and the chiller or compressor was not correctly sized.

NOTE: I do not offer legal or code-compliance advice.

Consults for commercial clients last up to 90-minutes.

Manufacturing

If you plan to manufacture or build cold plunge, John can be a great resource for brainstorming all aspects of your product or business model.

There are three ways to create, build, or manufacture cold plunges, including:

  • buying and white labeling existing cold plunges
buying and putting together existing products/equipment – Done For You (DFY)
designing and building or manufacturing your own unique product

I have consulted with many companies in the industry and can offer insights and feedback on any part of your plan.

Consults for manufacturing clients last up to two hours.

NOTE: I do not offer legal, code-compliance, or engineering advice.
